Open Letter to C. McCarthy

The Road a novel written by the author known as Cormac McCarthy. The novel started of shaky and kind of boring. But soon flipping through a couple of pages there were dramatic twists that got the reader hooked and wouldn't let me put the book down. The lack of chapters and proper grammatical notation, like quotes, made it a bit confusing and didn't help when I tried to go back and look for information that I had read. This was a big problem in class when trying to answer questions that I knew the answer to but needed quotes to support my work. Then there were times when I was reading the book and thought one character was talking to find out that it was actually a different character talking or it was actually  a character talking not the narrator. I would like to know what inspired you to create a novel like this. Also what was the apocalyptic event that occurred before the story starts taking place just to know. I mean the whole book I was waiting to know what happened to the world that could have destroyed every living thing except humans. It still bugs me that I don't know and if you want to leave it to the readers imagination then why did you even write the book probably could of imagined the story on my own. However the love you showed between the father and son was very deep and it helped show that even when life is at its worst and everything around you may be evil there will probably be someone that will be caring for you with all their life. In conclusion what happened with the ending, does the son ever reach the place that he and his papa were going to with all their strength. Does were some of my issues with the book. But overall I enjoyed and thought it was good, well better than the movie.
